The Smile Design Process

At Helio Dental Clinics, we work hand-in-hand with our patients to grant them their ideal smile, no matter what. We employ the art and science of the dental field, to render a smile that is both attractive and natural. That being said, the journey to the perfect smile requires a meticulous process. In this article, we will go over the process, highlighting its key features.

We are able to achieve the perfect smile using Digital Smile Design (DSD), which integrates a patient’s facial composition with their dental composition to render teeth that are a uniquely perfect fit for their features.

The tooth’s shade selection comes next, where we provide the patient with a range of tooth shades that perfectly suit their complexion to pick from. Natural teeth tend to be more translucent towards the edge, and more opaque near the gums. They also tend to have surface anatomy and texture, and are not completely flat. Integrating these features and more into our fixed prosthodontics (crown, bridge and veneer) work to ensure our patients end up with an eye-catchingly natural smile.

We don’t stop there, the way the patient’s gums look matter too! We examine the patient’s gums and assess whether they need slight modifications or if they require more work such as a gingivectomy or laser gum depigmentation.
Our patients are involved in their treatment plan from day one, and we continue to ask for their feedback and make adjustments accordingly until they are perfectly satisfied with their smile.

After we realise the perfect smile, we do recommend that our patients visit us every 3 to 6 months for a regular checkup and scaling and polishing to ensure their new smile stays as pristine as the day they got it. Our crown, bridge and veneer work also come with a 10 year warranty for quality, so our patients can rest assured that their smile is safe for the foreseeable future.
